Amaravati, Oct 20 (IANS) YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday slammed Chief Minister N. Criticized Chandrababu Naidu and his coalition government.
He asked whether a single “lamp” had actually been lit in these 18 months of rule.
Jagan Mohan Reddy recalled the promises made by Chandrababu Naidu, including monthly allowance of Rs 3,000 for unemployed youth, Rs 1,500 per month for every woman, pension of Rs 4,000 from the age of 50, annual assistance of Rs 20,000 to every farmer apart from PM-Kisan, Rs 15,000 per year for every child in every family, three freebies every year in every household Includes LPG cylinder and free bus travel for women. All routes and services
He said that none of these assurances have translated into reality. Instead of lighting new lamps, Chandrababu Naidu and his allies have extinguished the lamps which were shining during the YSRCP government from 2019 to 2024, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said in a post on ‘X’.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said schools, hospitals, agriculture, welfare, transparency and law and order have all been affected under the current regime. He reminded that during the YSRCP rule, around 30 welfare schemes through direct benefit transfer illuminated every household, but the present alliance has spread only darkness and gloom across Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, YSRCP leader and former minister Gudivada Amarnath welcomed IT Minister Nara Lokesh to acknowledge the success of the $4.2 billion Pinnapuram solar, wind and pumped storage hydro project, a visionary initiative that was conceived, facilitated and implemented under the leadership of then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“Ironically, the same Nara Lokesh, who once ridiculed the deal for political gain and made sarcastic comments, is now shamelessly trying to take credit after its global success. His selective memory and opportunistic PR stunts only highlight his hypocrisy and desperation for relevance. The truth is that this is a testament to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s vision, determination and It was the global reach that turned Pinnapuram into reality, not Lokesh’s tweets. Or empty words,” he added.
