The Andhra Pradesh government distributed ₹50.5 crore as Christmas honors to 8,148 pastors as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced each pastor will get ₹6,000 for 12 months.
The Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday, December 24, distributed honorarium amounting to over ₹50 crore as Christmas gifts to over 8,000 priests.
While participating in the Christmas celebrations on Tuesday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the release of funds.
“As part of the Christmas gift, the state government today released ₹50.5 crore as honorarium to 8,148 priests,” an official press release said.
The Samman Nidhi covers the period from December 2024 to November 2025.
As a result, each pastor will receive an honorarium of ₹6,000 for 12 months as a Christmas gift, the press release said.
