It was yet another horrific game for Royal Challengers Bangalore, who suffered their sixth defeat in seven matches in the ongoing IPL 2024. Faf du Plessis’ side were thoroughly outplayed by Sunrisers Hyderabad, who posted their highest team total in the tournament’s history on Monday. Batting first, the RCB bowlers looked completely helpless as Travis Head bowled 39 balls and Heinrich Klaasen scored a blistering half-century. Led SRH to a huge record of 287/3 in 20 overs. This is the highest team total in IPL history, with SRH breaking the record they had held in IPL 2024 against Mumbai Indians. As SRH batsmen broke out in Bengaluru, star batsman Virat Kohli had a disappointed look on his face and his reaction to the defeat went viral on social media.

Kohli got off to a good start in the innings, scoring 288 runs, but he was eventually dismissed for completely missing Mayank Markande’s delivery, which hit his stumps, He was eventually eliminated with 42 points.
RCB captain Faf du Plessis went on to say that the team had “no way to hide”.
“Our (batting performance) was much better and it was a proper T20 wicket. In the end it was just trying to get close but 280 was long. It was difficult. We tried a few things, we tried different things. There was no way Fast bowlers find it very difficult when your confidence is low, similar to batting angles, we need to make sure the run rate doesn’t drop off their hands after the powerplay and never give up (in run chases), ” explained Fife.
“It was good to see the game, from a bowling perspective, 30-40 runs was a bit too much. It’s important to get away and refresh your mind, it’s a mental game. Sometimes you feel like your head is going to explode .When you get back into the game, you have to give it your all,” he added.
