Amy Dowden says she is Honored to be on the stage she walked through strictly come dance and plans to continue using it to advocate for breast cancer community.
speaking in women At the Year of the Year Awards (13 October), the dancer said, “I’m lucky to still be here, but I never thought I’d get breast cancer at 32, and I wouldn’t be alive now if I hadn’t got myself checked.”
The 35-year-old stressed the importance of both men and women checking themselves for early signs of cancer and pledged to continue advocating for the breast cancer and IBD community throughout her life.
