Amit Shah visits Shelling-Hit Singh Sabha Gurdwara, meets the affected families in Poonch

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Ponch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, which was damaged during the crossing of Pakistan’s border. During the visit, Shah prayed at the Gurdwara and interacted with the families affected by the shelling.

Local people met the Union Minister shared their concerns and urged for compensation and relief.
Talking to ANI, Jaskiran Kaur, a resident of the district, said, “We told her who caused losses due to firing.

Kaur said, “We are with him and hope that he will also be with us … We were waiting to catch a glimpse of him since morning. We are confident that he will do something for us.”

The visit of the Home Minister attracted attention from the residents of the entire region, many of whom had gathered since morning. Shah heard the complaints of those people and offered assurance of support.

During his visit, Shah also met the families directly affected by the firing incidents from across the border.
Earlier today, Shah visited Poonach recently to meet the families affected by Pakistani shelling and distributed appointment letters to the families of the citizens killed during the attacks.

Addressing the gathering, Shah condemned Pakistan’s actions, saying, “Pakistan targeted civil areas in Jammu and Kashmir, and Poonch suffered the most. First, for the first time, firing worked with the freedom after Poonach.

Shah further stated that on the night of May 7, 2025, the Indian Armed Forces conducted a decisive operation, destroying terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK).

He described action on behalf of the citizens of India as a “answer” for terrorists, resulting in abolition of hundreds of terrorists.

“On the night of 7 May, we destroyed terrorist sites in Pakistan and Poke … It was a reply to terrorists by crores of Indians … Hundreds of terrorists were killed in the operation … We started an attack on terrorists, but Pakistan attacked the terrorists.

He said, “We have sent a message that India will not tolerate any attack on innocent citizens, Indian armed forces and every attack will be replied with more accurate and accuracy”

During his visit, the Home Minister also interacted with the personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) at his unit headquarters in Khantir, praising his role in Operation Sindoor. Shah visited the damaged religious places in Shelling and reviewed the security situation before the Amarnath Yatra.

The visit followed unprotected Pakistani shelling in the civil areas of Jammu and Kashmir Post Operation Sindoor, which was held on 7 May. Operation was held on 22 April in vengeance for the Pahgam terror attack, killing 26 people, including a Nepali National.
