Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach West Bengal on January 28 on a two-day visit. During the visit, apart from taking stock of the BJP’s organizational preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, he will address a gathering of eminent personalities in Kolkata and a public meeting in Purba Medinipur.

“Amit Shah-ji will be on a two-day visit to West Bengal from January 28. He will reach on Sunday night. He is scheduled to address a public meeting at Mecheda in Purba Medinipur district on January 29 afternoon,” said a state BJP leader. “He will also hold closed-door organizational meetings and take stock of the party’s preparations for the elections,” he said.

Before returning to New Delhi on Monday, Shah will also address a meeting of eminent personalities from the state at the Science City Auditorium in Kolkata. BJP, which won 18 out of 42 seats in the state in the last Lok Sabha elections, has set a target of winning more than 35 seats this time.
