Amit Shah asks for the formation of ‘homogeneous teams’ of central-state agencies to deal with security challenges

Underlining the need for increased coordination to develop internal security challenges, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed the formation of “homogeneous teams” involving central and state agencies.

These teams will be tasked to develop strategic plans, ensure their effective implementation and closely monitor progress.

Shah’s directive was given on Saturday during the concluding address of the two-day eighth national security strategies conference held in New Delhi, emphasizing that the increasing stature of India would increase national security challenges in the coming years.

A statement by a statement (MHA) by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said, “The Union Home Minister stressed that these challenges need to be dealt with through better coordination.

Stating that India’s economy had moved to fourth position globally, the Union Home Minister (UHM) also noticed that India was now a world leader in new and emerging technologies, start-ups, green energy and innovations.

He further instructed the participation of young police officers in each state to consider national challenges and prepare a solution to address them.

Shah mentioned that this conference is important to guide senior officials, familiarize them with challenges and show them the way to find solutions.

He urged that the National Database, such as the National Intelligence Grid (Natgrid), the National Integrated Database on Arrest Narco Offenders (Nidaan), Integrated Monitoring on Terrorism (IMOT), and the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) will include the fugitive database of the Bureau of Investigation Bureau of Integrated Monitoring on Terrorism (IMOT).

To resolve the challenges faced by the nation, UHM said, “A reliable ecosystem for real -time data sharing must be installed.”

Saying that the Modi government has solved many issues scattered in various states, UHM stressed that the next 5-10 years will be important for the development and security of the country.

Given that internal security challenges would remain dynamic in view of India’s geopolitical neighborhood, Shah inspired the state police forces and central security agencies to adopt the motto of ‘security, glory and summary’ (security, vigilance and coordination).

Appreciating the achievements in leftist extremists, North East, and Jammu and Kashmir theaters, Shah asked to adopt a similar approach for effective implementation of three new criminal laws and adopt a similar attitude to deal with the challenge of drugs.

In addition to focusing on the extradition of narco-criminals, he advocated a top-to-low and bottom-to-top approach to initiate action against large drug cartel. DGPS was directed to make a major police agenda for the next three years in the way of ‘Nasha Mutt Bharat’.

Stating that the police station was the focal point of intelligence collection, he called upon the police leadership to develop a reliable platform to share real -time information to the level of the police station.

Emphasizing the primary duties of the police to protect the life, property and dignity of the citizens, the UHM directed each state police force and the Central Agency to make efforts towards excellence and nurture a healthy competition to resolve internal security challenges.

Emphasizing the need for all-round development in LWE affected areas, UHM urged the DGPS to coordinate with the state administration to ensure the implementation of more than 300 central and state development schemes.

UHM stressed the capacity building of the state police to combat infiltration and smuggling activities, underlining the importance of acquiring small ports with our marine borders.

He also reviewed the initiative of the terrorists and directed that strict legal action should be taken against the repeated criminals. (AI)
