the company says Amazon Now Demand has exceeded “the most optimistic predictions”, and so the expansion is aimed at increasing coverage in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, where demand for ultra-fast delivery has exceeded projections.
The company expects to operate more than 300 MFCs by the end of 2025, up from about 100 before this year’s festive season. Amazon Now was launched in Bengaluru earlier this year before expanding to three metros.
Amazon said the growth is being driven partly by main Members who have increased their purchasing frequency after using the service.
“We are excited to see the customer response to Amazon Now and have accelerated our expansion plans. We will end the year at over 300 micro-fulfillment centers and we are not slowing down – opening 2 such centers a day in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai,” Sameer Kumar, country manager, Amazon India, said in a statement.

The ultra-fast service is operated by compact, technology-enabled micro-fulfillment centers located close to residential neighbourhoods. These centers use inventory systems designed to match hyperlocal demand and enable faster order processing.
