He said that hundreds of pilgrims were allowed to move towards the holy cave pilgrimage site, which settled in the Himalayas, for darshan.
Certainly, no pilgrims were allowed to move any of the twin base camps towards the cave temple on Thursday as a precautionary measure.
“Continuous rain had triggered landslides and unsafe the trekking paths, temporarily motivated to prevent pilgrimage.
“An official stated that an immediate work was done to repair the affected parts and ensure the safety of the pilgrims,” an official said that the rescue teams and the Border Rhodes Organization (BRO) made tireless efforts to make the tracks travelable.
With the improvement and withdrawal in weather conditions from the concerned agencies, the journey resumed today with both Nanwan (Pahalgam) and Baltal Base Camp, the officials said.
According to official data, more than 2.56 lakh pilgrims have demonstrated the naturally formed ice Lingam at the holy cave temple during the first 15 days of this year’s journey.
Meanwhile, the 16th batch of 7,908 Amarnath Yatris left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on Friday morning.
Officials said the pilgrims went into a convoy of 261 vehicles, which moved towards twin base camps.
The batch included 5,957 men, 1,613 females, 26 children, 290 sadhus and 22 Sadhvis.
The convoy includes 170 buses, 22 medium motor vehicles (MMV) and 69 light motor vehicles (LMVs) – (KNO)
