Srinagar, July 4: A pilgrim from Uttar Pradesh died after being unconscious at the Shannag base camp of the annual Amarnath Yatra, the officials said on Friday.
Officials said that the pilgrim, known as Dilip Srivastava, a resident of Lakhmipur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, fainted in the Shashanag base camp on the second day of the 38-day pilgrimage.
Srivastava was immediately shifted to the Shashanag Base Camp Hospital, where he died, he said.
