Australia achieved a record target in a women’s one-day international on Sunday as Alyssa Healy scored a brilliant 142 to guide the defending champions to a three-wicket win over India.
Australia achieved the target with six balls remaining by scoring 331 runs to win. elise perry Kim Garth led his team to victory by scoring unbeaten 47 runs.
Their third win in four matches took Australia to the top of the table, while hosts India are in third place after their second consecutive defeat, having earlier lost to South Africa.
Healy set the stage for the chase by building a quick opening partnership with Phoebe Litchfield and later a crucial partnership with Ashley Gardner (45), with Australia still needing 66 runs from 68 balls.

Perry, who had earlier retired due to cramps, returned late in the innings to guide Australia over the line.
“Really proud of the group. It’s a bit tight at the back end. We’ve been preaching about the depth in our line-up, the fact that we can chase 330 (proved that),” Healy said.
“Full credit to our bowlers for pulling it back; we could have chased down 360-plus. I was trying to wait for a big day. It was great to make a huge contribution, would have liked to have stayed a bit longer but the girls got the job done.”
The ODI match surpassed the target of 302 set by Sri Lanka to defeat South Africa in Potchefstroom in April 2024.
Earlier, Smriti Mandhana (80) and Pratika Raval (75) stitched a 155-run partnership to lead India to a huge score but ultimately ended at 330 for 138 with the loss of nine wickets. Annabel Sutherland’s five-wicket haul accelerated their decline.
Left-arm spinner N Sri Charani impressed for India with 3-41, but Healy’s blistering century – his first as captain and third in the World Cup – proved decisive as Australia extended their dominance in the tournament.
