A all-party parliamentary delegation from India, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, will visit Panama from May 27-29.
The purpose of the journey is to express the message of zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms and expressions of India.
In a press release on Monday, the Indian Embassy in Panama said, “Parliamentary delegation of an all-birds from India led by Honorable Member of Parliament, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, will visit the Republic of Panama from 27-29 May 2025, to express a strong message of zero-souls in all forms and expressions of India.”
The delegation includes rajya sabha mp sarfaraz ahmed (jharkhand mukti morcha); Lok Sabha MP GM Harish Balayogi (Telugu Desam Party); Lok Sabha MP Shashank Mani Tripathi; Rajya Sabha MP Bhubaneswar Kalita; Rajya Sabha Mp Milind Deora; Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya; And Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Former Ambassador of India to Us.
The press release further stated that the delegation will interact with the Paman leadership and the media, the strategic community, the Indian community and the major interlocutors of India’s friends in Panama, to fight against terrorism to underline India’s collective resolution with a strong message of unity and brotherhood.
Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor, leading an all-party delegation, attended Guyana’s 59th Independence Day celebrations at the Albian Sports Complex in Berbis. After a meeting with Prime Minister Brigadier Mark Anthony Philips (Rtiad), Tharoor spoke about a large scope of cooperation between the two countries.
Expressing his gratitude, Tharoor accepted the extended hospitality by the Prime Minister, who hosted the dinner by several cabinet members. During dinner, discussions included major issues such as terrorism.
He told Annie, “I am very grateful to the warmth welcome extended by the Prime Minister, who hosted us for dinner. Guyana’s 59th Independence Day is coming. We were very touched when the Prime Minister stressed that we come to dinner. Many members of the cabinet were also present. We had some good conversations. We mentioned the issues of terrorism.”
The aim of the All-party delegation is to abbreviate international partners on India’s response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack on 22 April and a widespread fight against cross-border terrorism.
Operation Sindoor was launched on 7 May by Pak-proposed militants as a decisive military response for the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April in which 26 people were killed. The Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, causing more than 100 militants associated with terrorist organizations such as Jai-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
