“All economic, socially backward classes will empower”: Amit Shah decided to include caste in the upcoming census of the cabinet

In a post on X, Shah said that this decision will empower all backward classes. “The Modi government is committed to social justice, has taken a historic decision today. In the CCPA meeting held today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a message of strong commitment to social equality and the rights of every section has been decided to include caste census in the census,” he said.

He criticized the Congress for protesting the caste census for decades. Amit Shah said, “The Congress and its allies opposed the caste census for decades while in power and did politics in the opposition. This decision will empower all the economic and socially backward classes, promote inclusion, and pave new avenues for the progress of the deprived,” Amit Shah said.

BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda also targeted the Congress, accusing him of using the issue for political gains. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the Union Cabinet has taken a historic decision to include caste-based census in the census. This decision is very important to bring economic, social and educationally backward castes into the mainstream and to deprive its rights for a long time. Earlier, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had criticized the previous Congress governments for opposing caste-based calculations. “Caste was not included in all census works held since independence.
