FCDO advises against all types of travel

- belarus – “You are in great danger of arrest”
- Burkina Faso – “Due to the threat of terrorist attacks and terrorist kidnappings”
- haiti – “Due to the unstable security situation”
- iran – “British citizens face significant risk of arrest”
- gardener – “Due to unexpected security situations”
- niger – “Due to the increase in reported terrorist and criminal kidnapping incidents”

FCDO advises against travel to all parts of the country
- Algeria – All traveling within 30 km of Algeria’s borders with Libya, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Tunisia
- armenia – M16/H26 road between the cities of Ijevan and Noyemberyan, within 5 km of the full eastern border between Armenia and Azerbaijan
- Azerbaijan – Within 5 km of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border
- benin – Northern border area
- burundi – Sibitok and Bubanza Province, East Kayanza Province, East Bujumbura Rural Province and the RN5 road north of Melchior Ndade Airport
- cambodia – Within 50 km from the border of Thailand
- cameroon – Bakassi Peninsula, Far-North Region, North-West Region and parts of South-West Region and within 40 km of the Central African Republic, Chad and Nigeria borders
- Central African Republic – Ban on all travel except the capital Bangui
- piece of paper – Borkou, Ennedi Ouest, Ennedi East and Tibesti Province, Kanem Province, including Nkou, the Lake Chad region and within 30 km of all other borders of Chad
- Congo – within 50 km of the Republic of the Congo-Central African Republic border in the Likoula region
- Ivory Coast – Within 40 km of the borders of Burkina Faso and Mali
- Democratic Republic of Congo – within 50 km of the border with the provinces in the Central African Republic, Kasai Oriental Province, Kwamouth Region of Mai-Ndombe Province and eastern DRC
- Djibouti – Djibouti-Eritrea border
- egypt – Within 20 km of the Egypt-Libya border and North Sinai Governorate
- eritrea – within 25 km of the land border of Eritrea
- Ethiopia – International Border Zone, parts of Tigray Region, Amhara Region, Afar Region, Gambella Region, Oromia Region, Somali Region, Central, Southern, Sidama and South West Region and Benishangul-Gumuz Region
- Georgia – South Ossetia and Abkhazia
- India – Within 10 km of India-Pakistan border and Jammu and Kashmir
- Indonesia – Mount Levotobi Male, Mount Sinabung, Mount Marapi, Mount Semeru, Mount Ruang, Mount Ibu
- Iraq – Advises against all travel to Anbar Province, Basra Province, Diyala Province, Kirkuk Province, Ninawa Province, Salah al-Din Province, parts of Sadr City and within 30 km of federal Iraq’s borders with Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
- israel – Against all travel to Gaza, parts of the West Bank and northern Israel
- Jordan – within 3 km of the Syrian border
- kenya – Kenya-Somalia border and northern part of the east coast
- lebanon – Beirut and Mount Lebanon Governorate, South and Nabatieh Governorate, Bekaa Governorate, Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, Akkar Governorate, Tripoli city and areas of Palestinian refugee camps.
- Libya – Advise against all travel to Libya except the cities of Benghazi and Misrata
- mauritania – within 25 km of the eastern Mauritanian and Malian border
- moldova – Transnistria
- mozambique – Cabo Delgado Province
- Myanmar (Burma) – Chin State, Kachin State, Kayah State, Kayin State, Mon State, Rakhine State, Sagaing and Magway Regions, Tanintharyi Region, Shan State North, North Mandalay Region
- Nigeria – Borno State, Yobe State, Adamawa State, Gombe State, Kaduna State, Katsina State, Zamfara State and riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River States
- Pakistan – Areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Balochistan province, within 10 miles of the border with Afghanistan
- philippines – Western and Central Mindanao and Sulu Archipelago
- saudi arabia – within 10 km of the border with Yemen
- somalia – Advises against all travel except the western regions of Awadal, Maroudijeh and Sahil
- Sudan – Against all travel except Halib Triangle and Bir Tawil Trapezoid
- Palestine – Against all travel to Gaza, parts of the West Bank and northern Israel
- Thailand -Parts of the south, near the Thailand-Malaysia border, within 50 km of the Hat Yai to Padang Besar train line and the entire border with Cambodia

- tunisia – Parts of western Tunisia, including the Tunisia–Algeria border, and southern Tunisia, including the Tunisia–Libya border.
- turkey – Within 10 km of the Türkiye-Syria border
- ukraine – All regions of Ukraine except some western regions
- Venezuela – Within 80 km of the Venezuela-Colombia border, within 40 km of the Venezuela-Brazil border, Zulia state
- Western Sahara – Areas within 30 km of the ‘Barm’ boundary line and south and east of the Berm boundary line
FCDO advises against all travel except essential travel
In relation to the definition of ‘essential travel’, the FCDO says: “Whether travel is essential or not is your own decision. You may have urgent family or business commitments that you need to fulfil. Only you can make an informed decision based on your individual circumstances and risks.”

- guatemala – Within 5 km of the Mexican border and the cities of Santa Ana Huista, San Antonio Huista and La Democracia
- Kosovo – Municipalities of Zvecan, Ljubin Potok and Leposavik, and the area of Mitrovica north of the Ibar River
- laos – Zassomboun Province
- malaysia – Eastern Sabah Coastal Islands
- Mexico – Baja California, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Jalisco, Colima, Guerrero and parts of Chiapas
- Papua New Guinea – Hela and Southern Highlands Province, except Enga Province, Wabag District in the Highlands
- peru – 20 km south of the Peru-Colombia border and within the Apurimac, Ani and Mantaro river valleys
- rwanda – Rusizi District
- tanzania – within 20 km of the Tanzanian border with Cabo Delgado Province in Mozambique
