President Trump and his administration are taking out all stops and there is nothing.
Including the city of New York.
The Department of Justice on Thursday filed a case against the city of New York including Mayor Eric Adams on the city’s sanctuary policies.
The Trump administration alleged that the city’s policies interfere with the enforcement of the federal immigration law.
“Detailed in the complaint, New York’s sanctuary policies have allowed dangerous criminals to roam the streets and commit heinous crimes within the community. These policies reflect a deliberate effort to disrupt federal law enforcement and thus set a predetermined place under the dominated section of the US Constitution,” the Department of Justice said in a press release.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi said, “New York City has released thousands of criminals on the streets to commit violent crimes against citizens who follow the law due to the policies of the sanctuary city.”
“If the city of New York will not stand for the safety of its citizens, we will,” he said.
The Department of Justice is prosecuting New York City and Mayor Eric Adams for obstructing law enforcement with the policies of the sanctuary city.
If the New York leaders do not take steps to protect their citizens, we will do it.

A few days after an off-duty customs agent shot on the face, police stated that a robbery was attempted at an upper Manhattan Park. Federal officials later said that two arrested people illegally entered the country and convicted shooting on the city’s sanctuary policies. The lawsuit argues that if immigration policies were not in place, shooting could have been stopped.
The lawsuit represents an increase in pressure on Adams, who has a close ties with President Donald Trump and criticized aspects of the city’s immigration policies.
The mayor’s corruption prosecution was rejected in April under the direction of Trump’s Department of Justice, amid the allegations that he had offered to assist federal officials with immigration enforcement in exchange for dismissing his allegations. Adams denied the allegations.
Officials of the Department of Justice said that the lawsuit tries to stop the country’s largest city from disrupting immigration enforcement.
“New York City has long been in the pawn to intervene in implementing the immigration laws of this country,” has been said in the case. “Its history as a sanctuary city is 1989, and its efforts to thwart federal immigration enforce have intensified only.”

The Department of Justice also argues that refusal to follow the city’s Homeland Security Department “often puts the ice authorities at a great risk of physical danger,” cited several recent high-profile events involving federal immigration officers, including shooting on Sunday, including an off-duty customs and border patrol agent in the hospital.
The complaint, including the New York City Council and the City Department of Correction, has also been nominated as defendants, also cited data on immigration and customs enforcement captive requests, which the Department of Justice claims that the city has not honored. The suite of New York’s “Sanctuary” policies is back in the 1980s and limits cooperation between federal immigrant agents and local law enforcement officials.
Adams Press Secretary Kayla Maller Alts said that the city would review the trial, but argued that the sanctuary city policies protect new Yorkers. “Mayor Adams has become clear: no one should be afraid to dial 911, send their children to school, or go to the hospital, and no new yorker should feel forced to hide in the shade,” she said.
Adams Sanctuary supports the “essence” of the city laws, Mmelike Alts said, “He has also made it clear that he goes far away when it comes to working with those violent criminals on our streets and to ensure that we can work effectively with the federal government, to make our city safe, till now, the council has denied.”
