The FDF stated that the UK food inflation has more than other European countries in recent months, including France, Germany and Spain, showing that domestic policies have played an important role.

“As the budget of this autumn, it is important that the government does not already carry high costs in our region. We have been killed by increasing taxes, employment costs and a new packaging tax.

“We are making calls from the government to attract investment, accelerate productivity growth, promote skills and increase exports in our region to help the government to start this tide.

“This will help to combat inflation and secure a more flexible future for Britain’s food and beverage manufacturing.”
