Airport in some parts of Northern India remained closed till next notice

A flight advice was issued to airports in the northern parts of the country on Wednesday amidst the stresses of the Indian Army on Pakistani terrorist camps, SpiceJet Airlines between India and Pakistan.

Taking social media X, in a post, Airlines wrote that airports including Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar and Amritsar will be closed even further notices, further stated that departure, arrival and resulting flights would also be affected.

Airlines also requested passengers to plan their journey and check their flight position before taking off.

“Due to the ongoing situation, the airport in parts of Northern India, including Dharmashala (DHM), Leh (IXL), Jammu (ixj), Srinagar (SXR), and Amritsar (ATQ), can close until the next notice.

Meanwhile, IndiGo Airlines also issued a flight advice for its passengers to fly from selected cities in the country.

On being taken to social media X, IndiGo said in a post on X that flights from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh and Dharamshala will be affected.

Airlines requested passengers to check the flight situation before reaching the airport. “Due to changing the condition of the airspace in the region, our flights are influenced by #Srinagar, #JAMMU, #AMRITSAR, #LEH, #Chandigarh and #Dharamshala. We request you.

In addition, flights from Bikaner will also be affected due to existing airspace sanctions.

“Updated: Flights from #Bikaner are also affected by the current airspace restrictions. We request you to check your flight position before reaching the airport,” the post further reads.

Earlier, India’s Defense Ministry confirmed that the strike was part of the “Operation Sindoor”, targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
