A nine-seater India One plane made an emergency crash landing near Rourkela in Odisha on Saturday afternoon, injuring at least six people.
Usha Padhi, Principal Secretary, Commerce and Transport Department, Government of Odisha, said the AAIB team has already conducted aerial inspection of the plane crash landing incident in Rourkela.
“They have taken photographs of the crash landing site from the air using the helicopter provided by the state government. Later, they will also inspect the spot where the plane crash landed,” Padhi said.
The state government has made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the investigation, he said, adding that the investigation is being conducted as per the guidelines and SOPs of the DGCA.
The IndiaOne Air Cessna Grand C208B aircraft crashed near Rourkela in Odisha on Saturday, killing six people, including two pilots and four passengers. The DGCA said the aircraft took off from Bhubaneswar in the afternoon and the crew declared ‘May Day’ to the Rourkela ATC and made a forced landing at 1:20 pm in an open area near the concourse.
Meanwhile, Odisha’s aviation directorate said in a statement that the health condition of all six people, including two women and two pilots, injured in the crash landing of a plane in Rourkela is “safe and stable”.
“As per the latest health bulletin, all passengers are safe and stable. One passenger is under close and constant medical observation.”
Padhi, who reached Rourkela on Sunday morning with the AAIB team and two specialist doctors from Bhubaneswar, said a dedicated team of doctors is currently conducting medical assessment, and all the patients are under strict medical observation.
The Directorate said that the Government of Odisha has provided all necessary assistance to ensure the highest standards of safety, prompt medical care to the affected persons and investigation by the AAIB.
