Air India suspended Tel Aviv operation after the Hothi missile attack at Ben Gurian Airport

Air India has suspended its flights to Tel Aviv by 6 May, as six people were injured, due to security concerns after a ballistic missile fired by Iran -backed Hothis in Yemen on Sunday morning.

Airline flight AI139 from Delhi to Tel Aviv was transferred to Abu Dhabi, where it landed safely. According to an Air India spokesperson, the flight will soon return to Delhi.

Following the incident, Air India announced a one -time discount for customers with legitimate tickets booked between May 4 and May 6, allowing them to receive full refunds to resolve or cancel their flights.

In an official advice issued by Air India on X, the airline said, “As a result of the developments in Tel Aviv this morning, our operations and Tel Aviv will be suspended with immediate effect by 6 May 2025 to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. Our associates are assisting customers on the ground and helping them in alternative arrangements.”

“Customers were booked on our flights with legitimate tickets between 4 and 6 May 2025, which will be offered a one -time discount on a re -prescribed or full refund to cancel.

The Israeli army attempted to stop the missile removed from Yemen, but was unable to shoot it. The army said, “An impact in the area of ​​Ben Gurian Airport was identified.”

According to The Times of Israel, the Israeli Air Force’s aerial defense system is investigating failure.

The victims of the attack include a person in the 50s, with moderate injuries to his organs and two women, who were 54 and 38 years old, who were in the grip of Shockwave, but in a stable position, Magen David Adom Ambulance Service said in a statement.

The MDA stated that a 64 -year -old man suffered a mild injury, when he had hit an object, flying from the site, and two more women, 22 and 34 years of age, were mildly hurt while running for shelter, the MDA said.

The injured persons were taken to hospitals in Central Israel.
