Additional Medical Superintendent at Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital said on Monday that the DNA sample match in Air India Plain Crash has reached 92, which is in line with 87 persons due to some repetition.
Talking to the media, Dr. Rajneesh Patel said that 47 bodies have been sent to various districts so far.
“Among the bodies brought to the civil hospital, the DNA matching of 92 (body residues) is complete, this (number of individuals) is 87 because there is duplication from there. 47 bodies are sent from here … The bodies are sent from here … the bodies are sent from here … the bodies are mine, Ahmedabad, Kota, Mahasana, Bharuch, Vadodara, Arawalli, Ekand, Janagar, Janagadh and Bhavnagar,”. Patel said.
The London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft crashed at a hostel complex on June 12 at a hostel complex immediately after the takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, killing 241 passengers and crews, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupni.
A UK specialist who arrived at the Air India plane accident site in Ahmedabad to conduct an inspection, said, “Maybe we will be able to speak later … We saw what you guys can see … It’s just that, as you can see from here.”
Meanwhile, former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who lost his life in the accident, will be cremated with the last state honor in Rajkot later today.
Tricolor is being brought to the Morchery of Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, which has been wrapped on their mortal remains. About 2,000 kg of flowers will be used to decorate the horsepower which will take the body of the former Chief Minister.
As the identity process continued, the authorities assured that each body would be handed over with full respect and dignity.
The accident claimed that 241 out of 242 people were living, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Ramesh, a British citizen of Indian origin, is currently undergoing treatment for injuries.
At least 33 people, including local residents and MBBS students on the ground, also lose their lives, as the plane had entered the doctor’s hostel after the accident. (AI)
