Air Canada to resume flights on Sunday after intervening in strike in Ottawa

Air Canada says that after the federal government steps, there are plans to resume flights today and ordered a binding mediation to end the strike of a flight attendants on Saturday.

The Montreal-based airline says the first flights will resume this evening, but it will take several days before its operation is normal.

Air Canada says that it has been directed by the Canada Industrial Relations Board to resume operations and flight attendants have continued their duties up to ET at 2 pm.

The federal government on Saturday ordered the airline and its flight attendant to be returned to work, ending the strike and lockout after less than 12 hours.

The Canadian Association of public employees, which represents the flight attendants, has accused the federal job minister Patty Hazdu of caveing for the demands of Air Canada.
