Montreal – Air Canada flight attendants are entering the last day of voting on whether their union has to give a strike to the strike.
Vote, which started from July 28 and shut down today, comes after the Air Canada component of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
The union represents more than 10,000 flight attendants who have been in contract talks since the beginning of the year.
It has said that despite continuous efforts, major issues such as payment, unpaid work and pension are unresolved, including a union -appointed intermediary.
Air Canada has warned that the vote does not mean that there will be a disruption, given that the possible strike may not take place after the 21-day cooling-off period after the 60-day reconciliation period.
In the July 25 statement, the airline stated that it is “fully available to continue negotiations with CUPE for a fair and equitable collective agreement that recognizes the contribution of its flight attendants and supports the company’s competition and long -term development.”
