Ahmedabad aircraft accident: "Four MBBS students killed during lunch," Junior Doctor Association of BJ Medical College says

The Junior Doctor Association of BJ Medical College on Saturday confirmed that four MBBS students entered the doctor’s hostel soon after flying from Ahmedabad Airport after a London-Bound Air India flight.

In a statement, the Junior Doctor Association said on Saturday that when the aircraft crashed into the building, four students were killed and 20 MBBS students were injured. 11 of the injured have been discharged.

“Recently, in terms of aircraft accident incident, JDA-BJMC clarified that a total of 4 MBBS students of BJ Medical College, who were having lunch in Mess Building, have become unhappy. Out of 20 MBBS students injured in the accident, 11 have been discharged with a stable position,” the statement said.

The association also urged the people that rumors of a high death should not be misleaded between students and resident doctors in the plane crash.

“Some individuals are spreading rumors suggesting a high death toll between medical college students and resident doctors. We appeal to all that they should not be misled by such misinformation and should avoid spreading rumors.”

According to the association, four families of super-specialty doctors who lived in a “Atulam” building in the college campus also died.

“The family members of the super specialty doctors have died tragically, 4, who lived in the” Atulum “building. In addition, the wife of a resident of the Super Specialty Department is injured and currently subject to treatment. The condition of all the recruited patients is stable and they are recovering quickly,” the statement said.

Air India confirmed the death of 241 out of 242 people in the first aircraft accident.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued an order to expand the investigation of the Boeing Dreamliner 787 series aircraft in the fleet of the Indian aircraft, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Nayjrapu said.

Naidu further said that about eight Boeing 787 series aircraft have already been examined and immediately inspected.

Addressing a press conference here, the Union Civil Aviation Minister said, “We have very strict security standards in the country … When the incident took place, we also felt that there is a need to do an extended monitoring of Boeing 787 series. DGCA has already given an order for us with an extended monitoring for 34. Following, all of them are being made.”
