Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered an FIR after the death of a 16 -year -old girl after surgery of a 16 -year -old girl due to an alleged medical negligence at Doda Government Medical College.
The deceased was identified as Sania Bano, a resident of Bhalesh.
Medical Superintendent Tanveer Ahmed told ANI, “A 16 -year -old patient underwent surgery in the morning. He was named Bhihia Bano, who was a resident of good. He was operated for a hydrated cyst.”
Ahmed said that surgery was complicated as he had many ulcers.
“After surgery, while reviving the patient, she was to be intubat. She went into shock … The doctor said that there was either an analgesic reaction or several organ participation. The patient was sent to the skims. She was declared dead there,” he said.
Ahmed said that the cause of death would be known after the postmortem report.
He said, “The patient was brought back here, and his postmortem was operated. The cause of the death would be known when the report comes … I had a conversation with the doctor. He said that he started the surgery at 11.30 am … The patient went to shock at the time of recovery.”
He said that the Anesthesia team intumed him to revive him.
“We have formed a team for this, and the case will also be investigated to find out the cause of death … An FIR has been lodged. The postmortem was done at the request of the police, and a magistrate was investigated. Tehsildar Saheb also came; Postmortem was held in his presence,” he said. (AI)
