Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday announced that India’s open borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh will be fenced. Speaking at the passing out parade of state police commandos in Assam, Shah said, “Our border with Myanmar is an open border. The Narendra Modi government has decided to guard the India-Myanmar border…and we will work towards fencing the entire border area (with Myanmar) similar to the border with Bangladesh.

The statement of the Union Minister has come when it is being said that hundreds of soldiers of Myanmar have crossed the border into India to escape from the armed rebels fighting the people of the country.
