Heavy rains led to rise in water levels in Dharhali and Sakatoh rivers in Rajouri district.

After the arrival of the monsoon, many states of India are facing heavy rains, causing rivers and low -level areas, floods and rising water levels of water.

The neighboring state, Himachal Pradesh is also experiencing the anger of heavy rainfall, resulting in floods and loss of life in Mandi district.

The search teams keep searching for the missing persons in the flood-hat Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, as the mountainous state reached 75 after the monsoon havoc. The state is experiencing rainfall, landslides, flash floods and cloudbursts.

Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan said that the “geography” to assist the flood -affected people has hindered relief efforts.

Talking to ANI on Saturday, Devgan said, “The main road of Thunga has been made motorized today. Some supply vehicles have also been kept there. The supply has also been sent with the help of mules … The number of missing people is still 31. We have not found any missing person. Around 250 State Disaster Relief Forces-NDRF personnel.

The officer noted the challenge of assisting the affected people amid monsoon and amid the possibility of excessive rainfall in the next months.

“Relief work is challenging due to geography. We are trying to reach the houses … It is just the beginning of the monsoon. It is going to rain for the next three months. For us, the additional challenge is that we have to operate relief, rehabilitation and restoration program during the monsoon. We have full support of the government,” he said.

On Saturday, a team of SDRF traveled to an area in a village in Panchayat Jarod to expand emergency assistance to residents in disaster affected areas and surveyed the affected areas and identified weak individuals in an immediate requirement of assistance.

Relief materials, including basic requirement kits and medical kits, were distributed to the affected families as part of the immediate response effort.

The team also assessed the medical conditions of several villagers and provided necessary medicines to people requiring immediate care. (AI)
