The ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will be seen battling for electoral supremacy in major urban centers of the state. Counting of votes will take place on January 16.
The Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) made the announcement on Monday, December 15.
In Mumbai, out of a total of 1.3 crore voters, 55,16,707 are men and 48,26,509 are women, while 1,077 are registered as “other voters”.

According to the civic body data, there were 91,80,497 voters in Mumbai during the 2017 elections. While 50,30,363 were male, 41,49,753 were female and 381 were classified as ‘other’ voters.
The data shows that polling ward 164, which falls under the administrative ‘L’ ward of the civic body, has the highest number of voters at 62,945, followed by polling ward 66 in ‘K-West’ ward with 61,799 voters.
‘M-East’ ward has the lowest number of voters in polling ward 142 with 31,575, followed by ‘R-North’ ward with 31,916 voters in polling ward 1.
Of the 1,077 other voters, the highest number – 281 – has been recorded in Ward 34, polling under ‘P-North’ ward, followed by 111 in Ward 124, polling under ‘N’ ward.

In Mumbai, civic elections are being held after almost nine years, as the last elections were held in 2017.
The five-year tenure of BMC corporators ended on March 7, 2022. Since then, the Municipal Commissioner of the civic body has been looking after the day-to-day business of the civic body as the state-appointed administrator.
