New Delhi, October 8 (IANS) Preparations are underway to welcome the arrival of one of the “biggest” leaders in Taliban’s power naming the Taliban, a day before the much awaited New Delhi visit of Afghanistan.
Sources told IANS that three prominent officers from Kabul have reached the capital in the last few days to prepare the plan, including the officers who will meet and others.
These three officers included a senior representative from the business, political and health sector.
These include Director General, First Political Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Afghanistan, Mufti Noor Ahmed Noor.
In particular, this is not his first visit to the capital, as he was in New Delhi a few weeks ago.
Apart from them, there are two medium level officers.
According to people aware of the case, FM Mutki can meet NSA Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar on October 10.
There is a lot of possibility that FM Mutki may address a press conference for a selected group of journalists.
FM Mundki will come to New Delhi from Moscow, as he participated in Moscow Format Counseling on Afghanistan on 7 October.
As IANS had previously reported, Mottaki had to visit India a few weeks ago, but failed to get a travel ban from the United Nations Security Council.
The yatra is part of the diplomatic busyness between New Delhi and the Taliban rule for the past several months, including Foreign Secretary Vikram Egyptian’s meeting in January earlier this year.
Several Kabul officials have visited New Delhi in the last few months, including the Medical and Food Minister of Afghanistan, Hamdullah Zahid, who were in the Indian capital for the 11th edition of the International Exhibition on Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare last month.
In particular, another top Taliban officer handling security and strategic matters, who cannot be identified, visited the Indian capital last month and left a few days ago.
