The airline said “as a precautionary measure, the aircraft was greeted by emergency services and passengers were safely disembarked” just before 8am.
A video recorded during a “Think Planes” YouTube livestream showed fire engines and emergency vehicles rolling onto the runway as the Aer Lingus plane landed safely.

The plane was immediately assessed at the airport rather than taxied to a parking bay, meaning passengers disembarked before the plane reached the gate.
The incident comes after Aer Lingus revealed it was considering closing its Manchester hub, which currently operates routes from Terminal 2 to Barbados, New York JFK and Orlando.
Unite said this had put more than 200 workers at risk, including 150 cabin crew represented by the union.
