New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said the era of “Katta” and “Lalten” is over in Bihar, and the state is ready to make missiles and cannons in place of indigenous guns.
Addressing a rally at Ramgarh assembly seat, Rajnath Singh announced plans to open a defense corridor in the state, saying, “I want to tell the people of RJD that now katta nahi, tope banegi… missiles will be made.”
Describing the NDA manifesto as “Atal Pratigya” or “Bhishm Pratigya”, Rajnath Singh said the era of “katta” and “laltane” is over.
He said, “We will not make a false promise that we will provide government jobs to every household in Bihar. This is not economically possible. We have promised to create job opportunities and for this we have announced to set up an MSME corridor and a defense corridor in Bihar.”
Addressing another rally in Bihar’s Karakat assembly, Rajnath Singh accused the Congress of trying to divide the country in the name of caste and religion and resorting to appeasement to garner votes.
He said, “Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy said that ‘Congress means Muslims and Muslims means Congress. This is an example of how far these people can go to get votes.’
He said that BJP has never done politics of religion. He said, “We have never been involved in the politics of caste or religion. If we have been involved in politics, it is the politics of justice and humanity.”
Taking aim at Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, the Defense Minister said, “Wherever Rahul Gandhi goes, he says that the Election Commission has stolen the votes of the people of Bihar. I want to ask him, is it necessary to lie to achieve political success? If one wants to do meaningful politics, then he has to do such politics which builds the country.”
Rajnath Singh said that NDA fulfills what it promises in its manifesto.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is extremely determined not to make any promise which is difficult to fulfill,” he said, adding that this practice is healthy as it maintains public confidence in parties.
He said, “We do politics to build the society, not to form the government. Parties like RJD and Congress are so desperate that they lie and even ‘buy’ votes.”
He said that NDA will never allow lack of trust between the government and the voters.
