This message came when PM Modi turned 75, in which the leaders of political spectrum were congratulated.
Earlier this year, Tharoor described PM Modi as “the most prominent political person in the country”, saying that his personal appeal was strong among the large sections of voters.
The comment attracted criticism from the Congress sections, some leaders questioned the time and political implications during such statements.
Tharur, however, clarified that the government’s policies did not have the amount of support, accepting political realities and ensured that personal citizenship should be upheld even among political differences. Tharoor wrongly rubbed his party, when the central government nominated him to lead a unanimous parliamentary delegation in the US and some other countries as part of the Operation Sindoor diplomatic initiative after the Pahgam terror attack on 22 April. Although his name was not given by his part, Congress, he moved forward with the mission.
His comment on PM Modi is noted both inside and outside the party, underlining sensitivity around the political message in future election competitions.
The Prime Minister’s birthday was marked by ceremonies across the country, in which BJP organized welfare drives, health camps and public outreach programs.
Earlier in the day, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan participated in increasing desires despite a sharp ideological division. In a message posted on X, the Chief Minister wrote: “Happy Hot Birthday PM @narendramodi Honorable. Happy good health and happiness to you.”
