A special glimpse at Deepotsav in Ayodhya, where over 1200 artists from India and abroad will participate

This is the first festival of lights after the consecration of the idol of Rama in Ayodhya (January 22, 2024) and a lot of preparations have been made to make it grand. This will be the eighth Deepotsav event since 2017 and the entire India will once again come together for the Deepotsav event in Ramnagari with the participation of Ramlala. On one hand, artists from six countries will stage Ramlila and on the other hand, artists from countries and states will also showcase their art.

250 artistes will form a procession and perform various folk dances of Uttar Pradesh. 240 artistes from other states will also give a grand performance at Ramnagari on the occasion of Deepotsav. In addition, 800 artists will perform folk dances and folk songs in many places. Over three days (October 28-30), more than 1,200 artists will dedicate their lives to the Dipotsav stage.

More than 1,200 artists from India and abroad will participate in the three-day event

After the completion of Shri Ram Temple, more than 1,200 artists from across the country and abroad will participate in the first three-day Deepotsav. Among them, Ramlila will be staged by local political parties as well as Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand and Nepal. Apart from this, 250 artistes will parade through Faruahi, Bahurupiya, Awadhi folk dance, Bamarsia, Tharu folk dance, Diwari, Dhobia, Rai, Dhedhiya, Mayur, tribal folk dance based on folk culture.

240 artistes from other states will also give a grand performance in Ramnagari.

More than 240 artistes from other states will participate during Deepotsav. These include Rauf folk dance of Kashmir, Chhapeli folk dance of Uttarakhand, Ghoomar dance of Haryana, Baredi folk dance of Madhya Pradesh, Bhangra/Gatka dance of Punjab, Dholtasha of Maharashtra artists , Dandiya-Garba by artists from Gujarat, Shirmour Nati dance created by artists from Himachal Pradesh, Gandhi dance created by artists from Chhattisgarh will be presented.

In addition, 240 artists from 15 states including Sikkim, Assam, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Rajasthan will entertain the audience in Ramnagari and introduce their state’s art and culture to the audience for three days.

800 artists will hold folk dance and folk singing programs in many places.

The three-day spiritual and cultural event will be held at many places in Ayodhya. About 800 artists will perform folk dances and folk singing. At Shri Ayodhya Dham, around 800 artistes will perform at Gupta Ghat, Badi Devkali, Ramghat, Birla Dharamshala, Bharatkund, Tulsi Udyan, Bhajan Sandhya Sthal, Naka, Hanumangarhi, Bus Stand Bypass, Naya Ghat and other places. Agra’s Preeti Singh will perform at Ramkatha Park while Maitreya Pahari will stage a dance drama based on Hanuman Chalisa . Ranjana Nev of Saharanpur will give a dance performance of Ramayana.
