Police He sets out in search of a runaway inflatable pumpkin after receiving a call of a large, orange inflatable object in Northeast Ohio.
Body camera footage from the Parma Heights Police Department shows that the inflatable pumpkin was difficult to discern as it rolled down the street.
Officers eventually stopped and took the inflatable pumpkin into custody Tuesday night. The footage shows an officer holding the giant plastic gourd and telling a colleague that he was “going after it” but “it kept flying.”
After it was captured, several officers attempted to deflate the pumpkin but were unsuccessful and had to work together to push the giant orange ball into the back of a police car.
“I’ve never seen this before,” an officer can be heard saying about the inflatable Halloween decorations packed tightly in the back seat.
Officers took the pumpkin back to its home where it is displayed “for the enjoyment of all who pass by it for the remainder of this fall season,” said Parma Heights Police Department spokesman Sgt. Eric Taylor said in a statement.
