New Delhi, Nov 21 (IANS) After Dr Omar Muhammad was found to be the attacker in the November 10 car blast in Delhi and several doctors were arrested, BJP national spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday said he was ‘forced to say with great regret’ that a new phase of ‘intellectual terrorism’ has begun.
Speaking to IANS, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “I am forced to say with great regret that a new era of ‘intellectual terrorism’ has begun. This new wave of educated explosives that has started is not in the interest of the country. People should unite to stop it. Any country that promotes or protects such elements can not claim to be a well-wisher of humanity or Islam. These terrorists who Those who claim to speak for ‘Islamabad’ are in fact the enemies of its existence and of Islam and humanity.”
He also reacted to the controversy over postponing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Kerala ahead of the upcoming Local Self-Government Institutions (LSGI) elections.
“Criminal reaction to the constitutional process is not in the interest of the country,” Naqvi said. He told IANS, “Some people complain even before the exam that the paper is out. I have heard about BCA and other courses, but now Rahul Gandhi and others will walk around with the tag of ‘graduate of defeat’. SIR is an ongoing process aimed at cleaning the voter list. It is not right to create confusion on every issue.”
On Wednesday, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai agreed to list the petition after the lawyer informed the court that the SIR process is going on even though local body elections are scheduled in Kerala in the second week of December.
The Kerala government has approached the Supreme Court seeking postponement of the SIR exercise, after the Kerala High Court last week refused to consider its writ petition requesting to postpone the process.
The Kerala State Election Commission has decided to hold LSGI elections in the state on December 9 and December 11.
