In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a 28-year-old man got his gender changed at the request of another man, but later he was cheated.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Vaibhav Shukla, a resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
He said the victim, who met the accused on social media in 2021, underwent gender reassignment surgery after Shukla promised marriage on the change. However, after the surgery, the accused refused to fulfill his promise.
Recalling her ordeal, the victim said, “As per Vaibhav Shukla’s request, I underwent gender reassignment surgery believing in his commitment to marry me. However, he not only reneged on his promise but also Also committed unnatural acts.”
Left with no other option, the victim contacted Vijay Nagar police and lodged a complaint against the accused.
The victim said, “I spent a lot of money on the surgery and now I am in despair. I urge the authorities to take strict action against Vaibhav Shukla.”
Police said that the victim had met the accused Vaibhav Shukla on Instagram about three years ago. They were in a relationship and accused Shukla convinced the victim to undergo sex change on the pretext of marriage, also had unnatural sex and later refused to marry. He also threatened the victim of dire consequences.
Vijay Nagar police station said, “The accused allegedly indulged in unnatural acts with the victim. A case has been registered against Vibhav Shukla under IPC sections 377 (unnatural sex), and 506 (criminal intimidation). We “We are investigating the matter further.” -In-charge Chandrabhal Singh told news agency ANI.
“Efforts are on to trace and arrest the accused,” Mr Singh said.
