On Sunday, a residential house in Beigh Mohalla in the Alokibagh area of Srinagar caught fire, causing a rapid response from fire and emergency services.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, “A residential house was reported at 11:45 am, a residential house in Beigh Mohalla, Alokibagh. The crisis call was immediately received by the State Fire Control Room, Batamalu, which worked fast without any delay and sent firefighting resources without any delay.”
“At 11:46 am, a team involving four fire tenders and trained fire personnel from the fire headquarters was on the way to the site. The operation was done under the direct supervision of Assistant Director Fire and Emergency Services, Dr. Aqib Hussain Mir, who inspected and coordinated the entire response effort, said in the statement.
“Fire and Emergency Services team’s quick and effective action, fire was efficiently under control, it was prevented from spreading to nearby structures. Firefighters demonstrated extraordinary professionalism, bravery and coordination throughout the operation.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No casualties have been done, and the affected structure had loss ”, it reads.
