Mushel, the younger brother of India batsman Sarfaraz Khan, is 19 years and 14 days old, while Tendulkar was not yet 22 when he scored a double century in the 1994-95 final against Punjab.
A day after completing the feat, Sarfaraz Khan posted a series of stories on Instagram praising his brother’s performance.
Mushel’s bat played an important role in the semi-final against Tamil Nadu as he smashed a valuable 55 off 131 balls with six fours, followed by all-rounder Sha Shardul Thakur hit a brilliant counter-attack century to give Mumbai a 232-run lead. Mumbai won the match by an innings and 70 runs.
In the quarter-final against Baroda, Mushel converted his maiden first-class hundred into a double ton, knocking 18 of 203 off 357 balls in the first innings. A four-pointer. He hit 33 quick fours off 25 balls in the second innings. After the match ended in a draw, Mumbai built on their first-innings lead to win.
Mushel has scored 433 runs in three games so far at an average of 108.25 and has two half-centuries. His best score is 203*.
