Mushir Khan thus became the youngest batsman for Mumbai to hit a hundred in a Ranji Trophy final. Previous record holder Sachin Tendulkar was also in the stands as 19-year-old Musheer showed off his carving skills with 255 balls to his name.

Mushel, the younger brother of India batsman Sarfaraz Khan, is 19 years and 14 days old, while Tendulkar was not yet 22 when he scored a double century in the 1994-95 final against Punjab.

A day after completing the feat, Sarfaraz Khan posted a series of stories on Instagram praising his brother’s performance.

Mushel’s bat played an important role in the semi-final against Tamil Nadu as he smashed a valuable 55 off 131 balls with six fours, followed by all-rounder Sha Shardul Thakur hit a brilliant counter-attack century to give Mumbai a 232-run lead. Mumbai won the match by an innings and 70 runs.
