The 89-year-old woman was traveling on flight EZY8070 from Málaga, Spain london gatwick when he “required medical attention” on board the ship.

A Málaga Civil Guard spokesperson confirmed that officers had responded to an elderly British woman who died just after 11am on 18 December.

Several co-passengers claimed on social media that the woman was “already dead” when she boarded the Airbus A319 plane in a wheelchair.

However, according to easyJet, the customer required medical attention shortly after boarding the flight, then “tragically died”.

The airline said the woman was flying under the supervision of two medical professionals with a “fit to fly” certificate.

Passenger Petra Boddington said Sun: “Anyone with eyes could see that she was not fit to fly, and it was not just I who thought, but everyone thought that she was overboard.

“People sitting in front of me even said that they saw the people who were with him walking away and his head was raised.

“We all thought she looked dead.”

Eyewitnesses said the plane had just begun taking off on the runway when the cabin crew were alerted to the passenger’s death and returned to the gate.

The Gatwick flight was scheduled to depart from Málaga Airport at 11.15 am.
