Sir Andrew Straussthe last England captain for an away win ash Had warned to remove the series 15 years ago Brendon McCullum And ben stokes Won’t be enough to change “disappointing one-sided story” Australia,
Strauss won brilliantly 3-1 in 2010-11 but the mark is I have become completely cold since thenEngland have lost 16 of their last 18 Test matches and drawn only two.
Now McCullum is under attack While Stokes as head coach it can be difficult to live If their current 3-0 plight turns into a 5-0 clean sweep.
But Strauss has urged those within the sport to look beyond the short-term solutions of firings and hiring.

His final report made a number of suggestions, including reducing the number of first-class matches and restructuring the County Championship divisions and focusing on encouraging elite player development, but they were largely rejected by the counties themselves.

Although he made no reference to the review in an extensive post on the social network LinkedIn, he appeared to argue for a fresh look at such proposals.
Strauss wrote: “So it happened, another ambitious group of England cricketers traveled to Australia, full of hope and optimism before their dreams were shattered after only 11 days of cricket.
“McCullum and Stokes and the decisions taken in the build-up to this tour will come under the same extreme scrutiny as (Ashley) Giles and (Chris) Silverwood did after the last tour. And Andy Flower after 2013-14 and Duncan Fletcher after 2006/07.
“Although they will know it goes with the territory, none of the above is to blame for England’s consistently unbelievable defeats in Australia since 1986-87. We have been beaten badly there time and again because Australia are a better team, served by a better high-performance system.
“If we are really serious about changing this disappointingly one-sided narrative, we need to look beyond sacking England coaches and captains and ask whether we are really willing to make the changes needed to break this trend.”
Strauss served as Director of Cricket ecb After retiring and later serving as a strategic advisor to the board, he stepped down in May 2023 after his reforms were rejected.
