South Eastern Railway has canceled passenger trains for three days due to elephant movement in Chakradharpur division.

A railway statement on Sunday, December 21, said that due to elephant movement, more than half a dozen passenger trains under the Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway will remain canceled for three days from December 22.

A statement from South Eastern Railway said that MEMU train services will remain canceled between December 22 and 24.

Aditya Choudhary, senior divisional commercial manager, Chakradharpur division of SE Railway, said movement of elephant herds has been observed near the railway tracks, especially between Bandamuna and Chakradharpur (Singhbhum in Jharkhand)-Jharsuguda (Odisha) section of the division.

Train services are being slowed down, causing traffic congestion and subsequently delaying the movement of trains, he said.

Trains that will remain canceled due to movement of elephants in the section include 68025/68026(Ckp-Rou-Ckp), 68043/68044 (Tata-Rou-Tata), 18175/18176(Hte-Jsg-Hte), 68029/68030 (Rou-Jsg-Rou). 58151/58152 (BRMP-BXF-BRMP) PASS, 68125/68126 (TATA-BBN-TATA) MEMU, 68019/68020 (TATA-GUA-TATA) MEMU, 68010/68009/68006 (CKP-TATA-KGP-CKP) MEMU, This was added.
