Independent Readers have reacted with disappointment European Union‘s new digital border plan, which has led to delay of up to three hours At passport control.

Many criticized the complexity of the plan, with fingerprinting and facial biometric registration adding time to already slow border checks.

As Airports Council International in Brussels called for an urgent review of the entry-exit system (EES), Europe In October, some readers criticized the EU for inefficiency, calling the new plan “ineffective”.

Others highlighted that the delays were predictable and stemmed directly from Britain’s decision to leave the European Union, arguing that passengers should “live with the consequences”. Brexit Instead of blaming the EU or its citizens.

Many commentators shared personal reactions, with some deciding to postpone trips to Europe until the system was improved, while others observed that delays were being caused by travelers being unprepared.

This is what the island’s elite demanded as a remedy for their subjects after fleeing the European Union.

The island suffers from a serious disease of not linking actions to consequences.

Betrayed-British

I am stopping my tour of Europe

It was always going to take the EU an age to get this system up and running properly, as there were bound to be teething problems, as has now been proven.

So, my wife and I have decided to hold off on visiting Europe until Customs gets its act together and book (and spend our money) to visit countries that are not part of the system, as have many of my family and friends.

We are all now expanding our horizons and deciding to travel to countries we never thought of before.

Britain got what it wanted

it An automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program.

We can and will live with this in the UK.

And now the strangest thing…

We did not want the EU. We didn’t want its customs union. We did not want its free travel arrangement.

Blaming the EU for treating us as foreigners is what we call all EU citizens: foreigners.

I really don’t understand this discussion happening on this forum. Britain got what it wanted: out of the EU, out of being EU citizens. And yet, as if it were a mantra, we cannot lose. We continue to blame the EU and its citizens for the dismemberment desired at the national level – even by Britons living in Spain – yet blame the EU and Spain for treating them as foreigners, as the nationalist votes they cast came home to hunt them.

Registration

I noticed that there were delays in people not registering in advance and then getting to do so when they got to border control. People who had their facial photographs and fingerprints recorded on the machines before reaching the border desk were immediately stamped.

delay is inevitable

When you control border access, there are always going to be some delays and inconveniences; More in the beginning and reduces with time.

On the whole issue of border controls, I suggest that Britain and its society remain very, very silent.

Incompetent and authoritarian

This shows what an inefficient, ineffective organization the EU is. The British people made the right decision, and anything done to subvert their will is authoritarian.

Another Brexit benefit

I have seen this system working much more efficiently than any UK airport.

And if you have to wait, please, be grateful for another Brexit benefit. Where once you were a citizen, you are now a stranger who must have your fingerprints and photo taken to be allowed inside.
