Most broadcast and cable news networks opted not to use the slideshow presentation that the White House had prepared for Donald Trump. Complaint filled national addressPresident’s economic advisor complained which in the morning About omissions because “we spent so much time on them”.

Complaining about lack of TV coverage for White House PowerPoint presentation, Kevin Hassett confirmed Earlier reporting by CNN Chief Media Analyst Brian Stelter The administration had shared a set of slides with the network and pressured them to broadcast the graphics on the screen.

Ultimately, networks outside Fox News decided not to do the slideshow, largely due to the White House not providing clear sourcing information.

Some of the slides shown by Fox News were actually labeled “White House Graphic” Rejected some of the President’s dishonest claims During his campaign-style address.

For example, as Trump insisted that gas prices had fallen below $3 a gallon in much of the country, the conservative cable giant showed a White House-prepared slide showing that the “national average gasoline price” is still about $3 a gallon.

White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett complained that most networks refused to use Donald Trump's PowerPoint slides during his national addresses.

As Stelter noted, Fox captioned the slides as coming from the White House, seemingly as a signal to viewers that they were provided by Trump’s communications team. Meanwhile, Fox News primetime host and close confidant of the President Sean Hannity also shared some slides during his program after Trump’s speech.

during Thursday’s broadcast which in the morningCo-host Jonathan Lemire confronted Hassett on the president’s repeated embellishments and outright lies during the address, only for the Trump adviser to take that opportunity to berate the mainstream network for not using his graphics.

“Why the need to exaggerate?” Lemire expressed surprise at Trump’s false claims about gas prices.

Hassett responded, “I’d have to go back and look at the specific language, but, you know, and I don’t like coming back with questions for you guys.” “But the President, to make sure everyone understood the facts and the facts were documented, spent a lot of time with us – with our team – preparing slides that showed the data of what he was talking about in the speech.”

Noting that “some networks” showed the slides and “some networks” did not, Hassett expressed dismay at how “unusual” the decision was for those outlets that had refused to air the White House presentation.

“I was expecting, when I was walking around, to just see slides everywhere. God, we spent so much time — more time on them,” he said. “But, you know, I think the President had documentation of the facts of what he was saying that were in the slides. And so if there’s any specific numbers you’d like to talk about, maybe he misspoke or something. I’d be happy to talk about it. But I’m wondering, like, did you guys show the slides?”

After co-host Joe Scarborough said he was not sure whether MS Now (formerly MSNBC) had aired graphics during its coverage, Hassett encouraged Scarborough to get the slides and “maybe show them” to economic analyst Stephen Ratner – who had presented his own slides about presidential speeches and the economy earlier in the program.

“The slides were fact-checked by the Council of Economic Advisers. And yes, that’s why I mentioned them,” Hassett responded, leading Scarborough to suggest that Hassett and Ratner come on the show later and compare their charts.

Meanwhile, loud and angry speech Many viewers expressed concern On presidential discretion, Trump was compared to Grandpa Simpson. At least one social media user said, “The old man yells at the cloud.”

Also, it was not just liberal critics of the president who mocked and criticized the address. Far-right podcaster Matt Walsh said, “It was probably the most nonsensical primetime presidential speech ever given in American history.” Tweeted Wednesday night.
