A Delhi court on Monday, December 15, extended the NIA custody of Faridabad resident Soyeb, accused of harboring Umar-un-Nabi who attacked the Red Fortand Naseer Bilal Malla, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, for four more days.

The investigating agency produced Soyab in the Patiala House Court amid tight security on Friday after the expiry of his last 10-day custody granted on December 5.

Naseer was produced after the expiry of his seven-day National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody, which was granted on December 9.

Media persons were barred from covering the proceedings.

The accused were produced before Principal and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna, who allowed the investigating agency to detain Soyeb and Naseer for four more days and interrogate them.

An official spokesperson of the NIA had earlier said that the agency had arrested Soyeb, a resident of Dhauj in Faridabad, Haryana, on charges of providing logistical support to “terrorist” Umar-un-Nabi before the Delhi terror bomb blasts.

Naseer Bilal Malla is the eighth accused arrested by the NIA in this case, linked to the “white-collar” terror module busted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The NIA team had arrested the doctor from Delhi on December 9, calling him the main accused of the conspiracy.

According to the NIA investigation, Naseer had deliberately given shelter to deceased accused Umar-un-Nabi by providing him material. He is also accused of destroying evidence related to the terrorist attack, the agency said earlier on December 9.

Omar-un-Nabi was driving the explosives-laden i20 car that exploded outside the Red Fort on November 10, killing 15 people and injuring several others.

PTI had earlier reported that a sophisticated terror module led by a group of doctors had been actively searching for the suicide bomber since last year, with Umar being the alleged key planner.
