Sir chris hoy He has revealed that he broke his leg in a mountain bike accident, which he described as “the worst accident I’ve ever been in”.
The six-time Olympic champion has continued to ride his bike while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer, which he declared incurable last year.
in an interview with sky sportsThe 49-year-old said: “I broke my leg on a mountain bike, it’s the worst thing that’s happened recently. You don’t bounce like you did when you were younger. It was a big blow, but I’m better now. I’m still on crutches, getting around.”
“There are worse things than this. I’ve been riding bikes for 43 years and this is the worst accident I’ve ever had. I’m very fortunate that this is the worst accident I’ve had in all the years of riding.”

“Once you get past the diagnosis, which for me was two years ago, now the first part of it is pretty serious and then you start treatment,” Hoy said. “Then, if you’re lucky like me, you respond to treatment and then you enter a period of kind of stability.
“It’s not completely stable, sometimes it comes back and then you have to change treatments, but fortunately for me in my situation, there are many different treatments out there, as there are for any man with prostate cancer.”
