A knifeman who stabbed a woman eight times in her own home during a robbery pretended to be a victim while talking to police officers.
footage released by suffolk police Elliot Mallett, 24, of Hawthorn Drive, was shown on Monday (December 8). ipswich, SuffolkOn December 7, 2024, officers approached a nearby park after a “brutal and senseless attack.”
“Somebody actually attacked me… they hit me repeatedly, they tried to stab me,” he told them.
After inconsistencies emerged in Mallet’s account of events, authorities decided to treat him as a suspect. The victim did not know him before.
Mallet was found guilty of attempted murder and aggravated burglary. ipswich Crown Court. He was jailed for 30 years, with an additional five years on licence.
