A man has been accused of raping two 14-year-old girls in a flat bolt on,
Greater Manchester Police received a report of rape on the morning of Sunday December 7 at a residence in the Central Halton area.
Sultani Bakatash, a 28-year-old Afghan national, was arrested and charged with two counts of rape of a girl under 16 years of age. sexual harassmentand one count of assault by penetration.
The force said he was allegedly in online contact with the victims before meeting them.
Both girls are now being supported by specialist teams detective check.
He will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning, the force said.
Chief Superintendent Helen Critchley, bolt on The district commander said: “This is an extremely worrying report, and our priority is to support the two young girls and their families at this traumatic time.
“We have taken immediate action since we were made aware of this over the past 48 hours, and are using all available resources to help us understand what happened and move this case through the courts.
“We are strongly committed to protecting young girls in Bolton and across Greater Manchester and helping people feel safe in their neighbourhoods.
“I urge the public to continue to support us while we do whatever is necessary to support the girls and resolve this case.
“Since criminal proceedings are now active, I urge the public not to speculate so that the legal process can take its proper course and the dignity of the girls is preserved.”
