A woman and her husband have been charged with murder in the brutal death of her pregnant 22-year-old daughter, whose body was found in the woods in Michigan.
Prosecutor Johanna Carey said in court that Rebecca Parks was in the last few days of her pregnancy when she was last seen on November 3. Park’s remains were found three weeks after her disappearance, with her baby dismembered.
“Clearly, this is the evil personality,” Carey said.
Courtney Bartholomew, 40, and Brad Bartholomew, 47, each face the same charges, including first-degree premeditated murder, felony murder, torture in place of confinement, conspiracy to commit torture, assault on a pregnant woman with intent to cause abortion or stillbirth, conspiracy to commit that assault, unlawful imprisonment, and 200 miles (321 kilometers) northwest of Detroit. Involves the transportation of a dead body to Wexford County.

Courtney Bartholomew was Park’s biological mother, but Park was raised by a couple who adopted him and his siblings.
“Mr. Bartholomew brought Rebecca to his home, forced her into another vehicle and drove to the woods, where he stabbed her, forced her to lie on the ground, while he bit her baby, ultimately killing her and the baby,” Carey said.
Bartholomew appeared in court by video from jail and was denied bail. Public defender Robert Champion declined to comment about the case.
A motive was not disclosed by the prosecutor. Dozens of people filled the courtroom, many of whom were searching the park. There were messages on cars in the parking lot: “Justice 4 Rebecca and Baby Park.”
“She deserves to be remembered as the sweet girl she was when she was little,” mother Stephanie Park told 9&10 News.
The child was not found next to Park’s body, but was later found, according to detroit free press,
