US President Donald Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. visited the Taj Mahal in Agra on Thursday during his visit to India. This is Trump Jr.’s second visit to India. Earlier he had toured the country in February 2018, visiting New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata.

According to media reports, he reached Kheria airport by special flight at 1:30 pm and went to Oberoi Amarvilas Hotel, where he had lunch before going to the memorial. The Taj Mahal stop on Thursday is his first personal visit to the monument, although President Trump and First Lady Melania visited it in 2020.

Trump Jr. toured the Taj with several guests. Local authorities stepped up preparations for the high-profile group, deploying around 200 police personnel, including ACP and ADC rank officers, for crowd and route management.

Agra Municipal Corporation also launched a special drive to catch stray dogs and cattle around Fatehabad Road and Taj Mahal.

During his stay in Agra, he reportedly stayed at the Kohinoor Suite at the Oberoi Amarvilas. The suites include direct views of the Taj Mahal, 24-hour butler service, dual telephone lines and a fully equipped minibar. According to the hotel website, the suite is priced at Rs 11,00,000 per night.

After visiting Agra, Trump Jr. is traveling to Udaipur, where he will attend the wedding of the son of US-based billionaire Raju Mantena, who has South Indian roots.
