“You normally tear that muscle into your tendon or the tendon tears the bone, but this was right in the middle of the entire quad muscle, and it tore,” he adds.

The Food Network star admitted he has a long recovery ahead of him, as he won’t be able to walk or stand on his feet for eight weeks.

“Crutches and a cast and then rehab, that’s it for me – I want to get through it as quickly as possible. He’s like, ‘You can learn as much as you want, get back to being Guy, you just really have to go through it. [it],” he added, noting that having broken several bones as a child – including his legs, knees and ribs – he has ”done that shit.”

He shared that his injury ultimately affected his filming Flavor Town Food FightBecause there were 125 people “ready to go” on the set while he was undergoing surgery.

“So, we figured out how to move through it and use some creative filming techniques. But it’s been a run,” Fieri said.

The celebrated chef also admitted that his injury will affect his upcoming cooking plans, as he cannot afford. So his family, including his sons — Hunter, 26, and Ryder, 19 — who he shares with wife Lori Fieri, are in charge of making Thanksgiving dinner.

“My son, Ryder, messaged me from school and he said, ‘Okay, I think with the training you’ve put me through and the food I’ve been cooking while I’m in school, this will be my time to shine.’ And I said, ‘I’m so glad you’re asking me about this even though I’m telling you you have to do it,'” Fieri explained.
