The storm was centered over the Strait of Malacca and adjacent northeastern Indonesia at 05:30 IST on November 26, near 5.0°N latitude and 98.0°E longitude.
It is located about 100 km east of Kuta Makmur (Indonesia), 260 km west-south-west of George Town (Malaysia), 600 km east-southeast of Nanakuri (Nicobar Islands) and 740 km south-east of Car Nicobar (Nicobar Islands).
According to the IMD, Senyar is likely to maintain its intensity for the next 24 hours before gradually weakening.
The storm is expected to move almost due west and cross the Indonesian coast during the afternoon of November 26. After that, it will initially move west-southwest and then move eastwards during the next 48 hours.
The IMD has predicted rough to very rough sea conditions over South Andaman Sea, Strait of Malacca and Nicobar Islands as well as adjoining Malaysia, western Indonesia and Thailand on November 26 and 27. According to IMD, after this the sea condition is likely to gradually improve.
Similarly, areas around North Andaman Sea are likely to experience moderate to rough sea conditions from 26 to 28 November. Southeast Bay of Bengal is likely to experience rough to very rough sea conditions from 26 to 28 November.
Moderate to rough sea conditions are expected over southwest Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar, Cape Comorin area and off Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Sri Lanka coasts on 26 November, becoming rough to very rough from 27 to 30 November.
Areas around Southeast Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep, Maldives and along Kerala coast are also likely to experience moderate to rough sea conditions on November 26 and 27. Sea conditions are likely to be moderate to rough along and off West Central Bay of Bengal and Andhra Pradesh coast from November 27, becoming rough to very rough during November 28 to 30.
According to the latest bulletin of IMD, There is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe till November 30. on 26 November, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema from 29 November to 1 December, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 26–29 November.
Heavy rain is likely over Tamil Nadu on November 28-30, Andaman and Nicobar Islands on November 26 and 27 and coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema on November 30.
